Landscapes of Solastalgia

Solastalgia explores the relationship between memory, place, and a changing landscape. The series grew from the experience of returning to familiar places that no longer feel the same—transformed by time, urbanisation, nature, and memory. Rather than focusing solely on loss, the paintings observe these changes with attention, finding traces of human labour and unexpected beauty in the altered landscape. Solastalgia becomes a way of negotiating the distance between remembered places and their present reality, and of finding a new relationship with a landscape that continues to change.
