FEATURED PROJECTS

Here, you can see highlights from some of my design and research projects that underscore my values through the process of understanding, creating, conserving, or restoring the landscape. All with a holistic view because only landscapes that serve people, respect the earth, and welcome biodiversity can bring us real harmony, beauty, and unity that I believe is a pleasure.

My research explores diverse gardens conceived by extraordinary individuals, all of them sharing a distinctive characteristic: their creation in times of crisis. Some emerged in response to adversity, while others acquired uniqueness in the midst of scarcity. Beauty reveals itself in exceptional ways when it surprises us in unexpected places, and that is why I find the achievement of those who made life flourish in the midst of devastation especially poignant.

PRUSSIAN PARK RESTORATION AND CONSERVATION

The manor-park complex in Komalwy stands as a cultural and natural treasure, contributing significantly to the landscape identity of Warmia. The revalorization project for the park seeks to honor its historical significance while unveiling its intrinsic aesthetic allure. Through thoughtful design interventions, the revalorization project aspires to breathe new life into this esteemed complex, celebrating its rich heritage and enduring beauty for generations to come.

BALEARIC GARDENS

In my Balearic Gardens design every element is meticulously crafted to harmonize with nature while embracing sustainability in the face of evolving environmental challenges. My planting selections are the result of thorough research, focusing on Mediterranean plants known for their resilience in challenging microclimates, minimal water requirements, and friendly disposition towards pollinators.  Embracing a garrigue aesthetic, my gardens designs eschew traditional ideals for a dynamic landscape where nature's beauty is palpable in every sense. Here, nature's beauty is not just seen but felt, heard, and smelled—a multisensory experience that seamlessly marries rustic charm with modern sophistication, inviting to savor every moment in this oasis of tranquility and natural splendor.

This restoration project encapsulates the harmonious fusion of oriental and classical influences, echoing sentiments of romanticism and botanical opulence from the 18th to 19th centuries. Meticulous research intertwines with a profound respect for the garden's origins, preserving its essence while infusing renewed vitality. As custodians of this historic masterpiece, I invite you to partake in its majestic rebirth, ensuring its timeless splendor endures for generations to come—a celebration of heritage, culture, and the enduring beauty of nature amidst the landscapes of Aranjuez.

PIET OUDOLF GARDEN IN THE HAMPTONS

During my internship at Summerhill Landscapes, supported by a scholarship from Ohio University in the USA, I participated in garden installation and maintenance. Summerhill Landscapes, renowned for its exceptional gardens in the Hamptons, NY, entrusted our team with creating top-tier landscapes. A notable project was the plant installation at the "Heyward Project," featuring over 16,000 perennials curated by Piet Oudolf. This experience taught me the intricacies of plant selection and arrangement, embracing Oudolf's philosophy of crafting harmonious palettes across seasons. It underscored the enduring elegance of plants—a testament to nature's timeless cycles.

USE OF THE INVASIVE PLANT ACCORDING TO THE EXAMPLE OF ARUNDO DONAX AS SUSTAINABLE MATERIAL IN GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE

In my research on the use of the invasive plant Arundo donax as a sustainable material in green infrastructure, I have explored the possibilities that this species offers in the realm of urban landscaping. My main goal has been to present the reed as a viable and eco-friendly alternative for city naturalization projects, with a focus on the circular economy. I consider it essential to harness the ancestral ethnobotanical knowledge associated with this plant to promote its use in a conscious and responsible manner. The qualities of Arundo donax, such as its resistance, lightness, durability, and resemblance to bamboo, offer attractive and functional designs for green infrastructures.
